Sapira 2B - Spill Response Basics

This first response, health and safety training course is recommended as the minimum requirement for training employees how to effectively work within a spill team; understanding and performing their roles and responsibilities effectively. This course is relevant for: ISO 14001 (section 4.47), BS25999.

 

Course Content:

  • Oils and chemicals; characterisitcs, movement, storage and disposal requirements
  • Raising the alarm, invocation, escalation and trigger points
  • Practical review of organisation's Spill Response inventory
  • Planning a repsonse (walk-through)
  • Health and Safety around a spill
  • Handling hazardous spills and PPE
  • First Response objectives
  • ICE objectives
  • COSHH data sheet interpretation
